SNOW ON MOUNT TAM... MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING... 2/5/2019
Several past years have rendered a winter wonderland on the venerable mountain... as depicted in the photo entitled Mount Tam Snow Print, which was a film shot taken I believe in either 2001 or 2002. What I love best about that photo is the contrast of the Palm Tree in the foreground.
So when them TV weather folk hyped a redo on February 5, I went out at dawn in search of the Holy Grail once again. Pix 0064 and 0065 were taken at 7:11AM, the crack of dawn. There is a slight dusting visible on the ridgeline. Pic 0081 was taken about 25 min later as the sun settled on the peak, and it was all over. I was left with no alternative but to create some fake news of yours truly shussing off the higher elevations. Now, tonight, February 9, once again the meteorologist soothsayors are telling me there's a good chance for a dusting this morning (February 10) So I'm having my coffee and putting on my woolen underwear and will be heading out yet again with promise of finding snow capped peaks at 7AM... Stay tuned.
2/10/2019... Nothing much to write home about here either...
