SUPER WOLF BLOOD MOON RAINY NIGHT BLUES 1/20/2019
Rain wreaked havoc as I tried to photograph this celestial event... The clouds broke briefly for about 20 minutes as the show began... I ran outside and set up the tripod and managed to get off about 40 shots of the still white moon as the eclipse started... The clouds returned closing the curtain on the show and rain began to fall once more... I put all my gear away and went back inside... An hour later, the skies broke again and by now the moon was blood red. I ran outside... set it all up and opened the shutter. The clouds returned and began dumping rain a 2nd time. I took the camera off the tripod in the final nano second that the shutter was open hence the double moon... my best shot of the night. Sometimes a mistake is more fun than the real thing. The single red moon is last year's shot... January 31, 2018. Next chance for this event is two years away.
